Simpson Desert

Camp among rolling sand dunes under starry outback skies. Camping in Munga-Thirri is permitted within 100m of the QAA Line only. There are no designated camping areas or facilities. Camping is suitable for tent camping only. There is no mobile phone coverage. UHF or HF radios and satellite phones are essential. The national park is closed from 1 December to 15 March due to extreme summer temperatures.
Warning! Only self-sufficient visitors experienced in desert and remote area travel should explore Munga-Thirri and the Simpson Desert.
