Individual camping areas on Hinchinbrook Island are for boat-based camping and do not entitle people to hike the Thorsborne Trail. For Thorsborne Trail permits please visit Thorsborne Trail bookings.
Banksia Bay camping area features bush camping with beach access and is located on the eastern side of Hinchinbrook Island, south of Ramsay Bay and north of Zoe Bay. The camping area can be reached by boat. Access is weather-dependent and a good knowledge of the waters and hazards is essential. This camping area is not available to Thorsborne Trail walkers. The camping area is suitable for tent camping and no facilities are provided. Mobile phone coverage is not available.
