Wongari (dingo): It is an offence to feed or make food available to a wongari (dingo) or intentionally attract or disturb a wongari (dingo) anywhere on K’gari (Fraser Island), whether on public or private land. Penalties apply. It is recommended that families with children camp in areas with wongari (dingo) deterrent fencing. For information visit https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/kgari-fraser Fire Prohibition: Open fires must not be lit on QPWS managed areas of K’gari, except in fire rings at Dundubara and Waddy Point camping areas, where visitors must supply their own, clean, untreated milled timber for firewood and/or bring fuel. Beach camping zone 7 is located between Dundubara and Indian Head on K'gari’s eastern beach. Wyuna and Burad camping areas are located within this zone. The camping areas have no facilities and are suitable for tent camping beside your 4WD vehicle, walk-in camping and off-road camper trailers. Generators are permitted from 9am to 9pm, sound rating must be less than 65 decibels (2.0Kva). Mobile phone coverage is intermittent.
