Freshwater camping area provides shady, sheltered sites set amongst scribbly gum woodland about 500m inland from the beach.
The campground offers formalised camping with defined sites and is accessible by 4WD only. Camping is suitable for tents beside a vehicle, walk-in camping, and camper trailers with good clearance.
Facilities include water (treat before use), flushing toilets, and hot and cold showers. Showers operate on a $2 coin for four minutes to help conserve water. A portable toilet waste disposal facility is located adjacent to the Freshwater day-use area. There is no mobile phone reception. Campers must be self-sufficient and well prepared. A pay phone is available within the camping area.
Cooking and heating is permitted only with fully self-contained appliances using gas or manufactured fuel such as heat beads or briquettes. Appliances that are not fully self-contained, including braziers, are not permitted.
There are no rubbish bins at campsites. All rubbish must be taken with you and disposed of during and after your stay at waste transfer stations located at Freshwater Road (off Rainbow Beach Road) and at Beach Road, 2nd cutting, Noosa North Shore.
