Coolooloi Creek camping area is accessible by high clearance 4WD along Hook Point inland road and is also accessible by boat. The camping area is partially exposed to the cool ocean sea breeze. The camping area is flat, undeveloped and has picnic facilities. The camping area is suitable for ‘park and walk-in’ tent camping and small camper trailers. Campers are required to bring a portable toilet. Mobile phone coverage is generally not available.
Wongari (dingo): It is an offence to feed or make food available to a wongari (dingo) or intentionally attract or disturb a wongari (dingo) anywhere on K’gari (Fraser Island), whether on public or private land. Penalties apply. It is recommended that families with children camp in areas with wongari (dingo) deterrent fencing. For information visit https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/kgari-fraser . Fire Prohibition: Open fires must not be lit on QPWS managed areas of K’gari, except in fire rings at Dundubara and Waddy Point camping areas, where visitors must supply their own, clean, untreated milled timber for firewood and/or bring fuel.
