Wongari (dingo): It is an offence to feed or make food available to a wongari (dingo) or intentionally attract or disturb a wongari (dingo) anywhere on K’gari (Fraser Island), whether on public or private land. Penalties apply. It is recommended that families with children camp in areas with wongari (dingo) deterrent fencing. For information visit https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/kgari-fraser Fire Prohibition: Open fires must not be lit on QPWS managed areas of K’gari, except in fire rings at Dundubara and Waddy Point camping areas, where visitors must supply their own, clean, untreated milled timber for firewood and/or bring fuel. Jabiru Swamp walkers camp is a small camping area with few or no facilities for people enjoying the Fraser Island Great Walk. The walkers camping areas provide access to toilets nearby, platform seats and access to water (treat before drinking).
