Lake Boomanjin camping area features a fenced camping area which is ideal for families with children after a quieter stop away from the busy eastern beach camping zones. The camping area is suitable for walk-in camping only, vehicles stay outside and tents must be inside the fenced camping area. The camping area is located along the Southern Lakes Scenic Drive—on the southern inland section of Fraser Island—approximately 12km north of Dilli Village, or 18km south of Central Station. The camping area can be accessed by high clearance 4WD only. Facilities include toilets, washing-up facilities and picnic tables. Mobile phone coverage is generally not available.

Wongari (dingo): It is an offence to feed or make food available to a wongari (dingo) or intentionally attract or disturb a wongari (dingo) anywhere on K’gari (Fraser Island), whether on public or private land. Penalties apply. It is recommended that families with children camp in areas with wongari (dingo) deterrent fencing.
