Wongari (dingo): It is an offence to feed or make food available to a wongari (dingo) or intentionally attract or disturb a wongari (dingo) anywhere on K’gari (Fraser Island), whether on public or private land. Penalties apply. It is recommended that families with children camp in areas with wongari (dingo) deterrent fencing. For information visit https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/kgari-fraser Fire Prohibition: Open fires must not be lit on QPWS managed areas of K’gari, except in fire rings at Dundubara and Waddy Point camping areas, where visitors must supply their own, clean, untreated milled timber for firewood and/or bring fuel. Fenced site with food storage boxes and platforms. Toilets located nearby adjacent to the Commercial Tour Operator’s picnic area. Vehicle based camping not permitted – this site is for users of the Fraser Island Great Walk. Treat water collected from taps before drinking.
