Details
2025-2026 Mon Repos Turtle Season—Ticket sales for the Turtle Encounter night tours will open on Tuesday 2 September 2025 at 1pm.
Book a spot and join our Rangers on a guided Turtle Encounter tour for a chance to see turtles laying their eggs (November to early February) or watch turtle hatchlings dig free and make their first journey to the sea (late January to end March). On the tour, you will also observe hands-on conservation work as researchers gather valuable data about Mon Repos turtle population.
Rangers and volunteer Turtle Guides escort groups ensuring turtle and visitor safety. Turtles are easily disturbed if correct turtle watching guidelines are not followed.
Ranger guided Turtle Encounters operate seven nights a week from Saturday 8 November 2025 to Sunday 22 March 2026, excluding 24th, 25th and 31st December.
Book your tickets online now and start planning for an unforgettable night time wildlife experience. Under the night sky, witness an ancient life cycle as majestic sea turtles make their journey to the shore to lay their eggs. Delight at the sight of their young, hatching weeks later, and making their unwavering journey to the sea.
Discover sea turtles at Mon Repos Conservation Park, a coastal oasis close to the city of Bundaberg. Mon Repos is a globally significant turtle conservation site, that supports the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland, and the most significant loggerhead turtle nesting population in the South Pacific region. The success of nesting and hatching turtles at Mon Repos is critical for the survival of the endangered loggerhead turtle.
