Mount Walsh bush camping
Details
Check In: 14:00|Check Out: 11:00
This camping area is for walk-in camping only. People planning to walk and camp should have bushwalking and navigation experience, and they should have an emergency plan worked out with a responsible friend or family member. There are no facilities provided and campers need to be fully self-sufficient.
Choose camp locations to minimise damage to vegetation and away from the areas where bush camping is prohibited, such as on the summit of Mount Walsh and within 500m surrounding the peak to protect the fragile, natural environment; and within the Waterfall Creek catchment, including along the Rock Pools walking track, to protect the fragile riparian vegetation and water quality. All rubbish (including food scraps) must be carried out.
Walkers need at minimum a topographic map, GPS, compass and navigational skills. A PLB Personal Locator Beacon is recommended. Expect rugged conditions, rock scrambling and climbing. Mobile phone coverage is unreliable throughout the park.
