S.S. Dorrigo

S.S. Dorrigo is the second camping area from the entrance of Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area. A large, open camping area is located behind the foredunes with no formally defined sites. Camp sites are suitable for tent camping beside a 4WD vehicle, off-road campervans, camper trailers and caravans. Coastal trees provide dappled shade in some areas, and camp site surface is grass and sand. It is only a short walk to the surf beach or to the more sheltered Pelican Bay. Some camp sites provide views across the ocean towards Double Island Point. Other camp sites, located closer to the bitumen road, are more sheltered from prevailing ocean winds. Camp sites located closer to the entrance and parallel to the bitumen road may be accessible to 2WD vehicles under normal conditions, but 4WD is recommended. There is no vehicle beach access, suits large groups. There are limited sites suitable for caravans and camper trailers. Four hybrid toilet blocks are provided in this camping area, one has a wheelchair access ramp. Rubbish bins are located near the camping area exit. Mobile phone coverage is intermittent.
