Upper Noosa River camp site 1 is set among fringes of open forest and woodland featuring melaleuca, allocasuarina, bloodwood and eucalypt species, bordering open heathland plains to the east. The site provides good shade and can be accessed by canoe, kayak, boat or via the walking track from Harry's Hut after paddling across the river. A jetty and toilet facilities are provided, making this site suitable for walk-in, paddle-in and small boat-based camping. Mobile phone coverage is generally not available.
Campsite permit holders can park at the Harry’s Hut canoe launch area. Vehicle access permits are not required for Harry’s Hut Road or Cooloola Way, but may be required if travelling on beaches or other inland tracks within the Cooloola Recreation Area.
