Upper Noosa River camp sites 4 to 15 cater for small groups seeking a more remote, low-facility camping experience. Sites are set among fringes of open forest and woodland featuring melaleuca, allocasuarina, bloodwood and eucalypt species bordering open heathland plains to the east. Most sites provide natural shade. Access is by canoe, kayak or boats with electric motors only; motorised vessels are not permitted beyond camp site 3. No camping is permitted directly on the riverbank. There are no facilities provided, and portable toilets are recommended. Camp fires are prohibited—bring a gas or manufactured fuel stove for cooking. Mobile phone coverage is generally not available.

Campsite permit holders may park in the Harry’s Hut canoe launch area. Vehicle access permits are not required for Harry’s Hut Road or Cooloola Way, but may be required for travel on beaches and other inland tracks within the Cooloola Recreation Area.
